San Francisco's only Easter Parade and Spring Celebration occurs from 10 to 5 on Easter Sunday. This fun event is now in its 17th season and draws families from around the bay. You can enjoy al fresco dining while you watch the parade go by beginning at 2 pm. All manner of children's activities including games, pony rides, face painting, bubble jumps, train rides as well as entertainers and stilt walkers will make your child's day special. You can enter the Easter Bonnet Contest too, where creativity is encouraged! And, if you are a vintage car buff, you'll find a great variety of carefully preserved autos to enjoy. It's a great way to spend Easter with your family.

The 32nd Annual Union Street Festival is one of San Francisco's largest free art festivals. More than 100,000 attendees come from all over the United States to enjoy the event. The festival features 200 artists, 20 gourmet food booths, live entertainment on two stages, bistro style cafes, spacious wine & beer gardens and a large family adventure area with children's activities and hands-on art projects.

To help celebrate the 32nd anniversary of this great Festival, Union Street will be featuring a number of activities at the event representing the unique history of the Union Street Festival. Take a walk back in time at a special photographic exhibit showcasing what Union Street looked like 100 years ago.

The Precious Cheese North Beach Festival is the oldest urban street fair in the country, attracting more than 150,000 visitors annually. Each year the event promotes the Italian and Beat history of the San Francisco's North Beach area as well as highlighting entertainers and craftspeople from throughout the nation.

Listen to music in the heart of Washington Square Park, stroll through booths of juried arts and crafts or taste fine cuisine from some of San Francisco's best restaurants - the Festival has something for every taste - from the artistic to the eclectic and everything in between.

Festival highlights include:

  • Juried arts & crafts
  • Artist Terry R. Marashlian will showcase his limited-edition North Beach Festival recycled "coins"
  • Arte di Gesso (Italian street chalk art)

In addition to vendors offering attendees great Italian fare, the Precious Cheese North Beach Festival will host two beer gardens, one at Green St. /Columbus Ave. and Union St./Columbus Ave. Beer and wine will also be sold at other local North Beach bars and restaurants.
