SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (February 1, 2007) – The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation has announced the thirteen artists that created the 2007 Hearts in San Francisco. “Each one of these hearts is unique and, collectively, exemplifies the diversity of this great city and those served by San Francisco General Hospital,” says San Francisco General Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director, Katherine Ripley-Williams. “We are proud to add them to the existing collection of Hearts in San Francisco.”

The ten new “tabletop” hearts (standing 14.23” x 17” wide and 8” thick 3D) – will be unveiled at Macy’s Union Square on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. They will then be auctioned at the 2nd Annual Heroes & Hearts Luncheon in Union Square on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. The three large hearts -(standing 5’ tall x 5’9 wide and 3’3 thick 3D) will be on display in Union Square after the Luncheon and through November 2007.

The Hearts in San Francisco artworks debuted in Union Square on Valentine’s Day 2004. Over 130 hearts were placed throughout San Francisco – from the Marina to Yerba Buena – and raised over $1.4 million for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation.

Heroes & Hearts is sponsored by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation to honor and celebrate the local heroes who have demonstrated exceptional and inspirational behavior to another individual or the community as a whole and who help make San Francisco the first-class city it is. The five recipients of the award are: Sergeant Mary Dunnigan, Margaret Hagan, Laura Mahlmeister, Pat Putney and Niels Tangherlini.

Tickets for the Heroes & Hearts Award Luncheon range in price from $250 for single seats to $5,000 for event sponsorship. To purchase tickets or to find out more about sponsorship, call 415-206-4478 or visit www.sfghf.net.
